In late spring 2006, a remarkable soul, an idol of immeasurable value, took her final breath. SEM passed away after a long battle with multiple myeloma. Despite her illness, she remained a beacon of joy in her final days.
“I know the end is near, but the best part is that I’m home, surrounded by the love of my husband, children, and friends. I am so happy to leave with joy—thank you all,” she often said with a radiant smile.
Her words inspired me to advocate for elderly care at home, where they can stay close to family, friends, and the familiar comforts of their culture and community. Unlike facilities where they must adjust to new environments, share spaces with strangers, and face challenges in receiving visits, home care fosters happiness and belonging.
This vision led to the creation of Fisola Support Services—dedicated to ensuring our elders receive compassionate care in the place they cherish most.
